This is the first year we have offered the Duke of Edinburgh Award to our students and so far it has been a fantastic experience. On Thursday and Friday last week we went on our first practice expedition, which involved walking to a nearby campsite, setting up (and sleeping in!) tents, exploring the area and cooking food. We collected firewood to keep the fire going, toasted marshmallows and enjoyed a campfire sing-a-long. In the morning, we took the tents down and packed everything away before commencing our walk back to school.
The weather was perfect and it was a fantastic experience for all involved. Our students rose to the challenge and loved every minute of it!
