Welcome from the Head of School

I am pleased to welcome you to Hazelbeck School.  I hope that our website and prospectus provide you with the information you will need about Hazelbeck School, as well as giving you a taste of our ethos and culture that makes Hazelbeck the very special place that it is.

Hazelbeck is a school for students with special educational needs aged 11 – 19.  At Hazelbeck we are passionate about the fact that our learners are at the very heart of all that we do.  We want them to achieve and exceed their potential and believe it is our responsibility to help them feel success.  This is seen in our school motto which is ‘Enjoy - Learn - Succeed’.  Everything is set up to ensure that we support our students to be the very best they can be.  We encourage them to be independent and active learners at every opportunity so that they are as ready as possible for the next stages of their life.  We know that every student is unique so we personalise learning to best meet each individual’s needs so that they can become more confident young people who are able to manage themselves and their environment.

Our curriculum focuses on core academic and life skills that help our young people to move forwards.  The key drivers for our curriculum are:

  • Communication
  • Independence
  • Meaningful skills
  • Preparation for next stages

To help our young people access learning we have an amazing staff team who are totally committed to the vision and values of the school.  Great teaching and learning is central to all that we do.  We are immensely proud of what happens at Hazelbeck and love watching our students as they gain in confidence and maturity during their school lives.

Please feel free to contact us at any time and if you would like to arrange a visit to Hazelbeck, please see our Tours of Hazelbeck page.
