Jeans for Genes

Last week, students across the school took part in Jeans for Genes Day, enjoying a range of fun activities while learning about the amazing science behind our bodies and supporting an important charity.
As part of some classes speaking and listening lessons, students discussed what genes and DNA are and learned how they help make each of us unique. They explored how genes are passed on and discovered some fascinating facts about genetics.
Some classes took things even further, examining DNA’s incredible structure and crafting their own DNA bracelets inspired by animals from around the world, their creativity was absolutely brilliant!
The day was a fantastic opportunity to combine science, creativity, and charity fundraising, helping students develop their understanding of the world around them while having lots of fun.
We are delighted to share that we raised £110 for the Jeans to Genes charity. Thank you to all our families for your generosity and support.
