Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Hazelbeck reopening, 8 March

Dear Parents/Carers

I hope you are all well and safe.  We are looking forward to welcoming all students back again on Monday 8th March. Getting all students back in school is a very exciting prospect and we want to make sure we do it right to ensure we keep school as safe as we can.

Student return

From the 8th March all children will be back in school full time unless they have a shielding letter in place.

In order to follow Government guidance and maintain as safe an environment as possible we will be returning to the controls we had in place during the Autumn term.  Young people in our school will remain in their class group at all times and this will be their ‘bubble’; this will include lunch times.  Each bubble will have their own room and there will be at least an hour in the playground which will be on a rota.  Toilets will be allocated to area zones.

Drop offs and pick ups

We will need to stagger the start and end times of the day to avoid crowding.  All transport (whether parent drop off or PTS transport) will come to the bus park.  Please ensure that for the safety of students and staff you use the designated parking spaces in the bus park as has been the case during this academic year.

1st drop off – gates close at 8.35.  Students to remain in cars until asked to get out by a member of staff

1st pick up – gates close at 2.35.  Again, we ask parents to remain in their car and your child we be brought to you.

Transport

Transport will be running as required and will return to how it was prior to January.  Your child should be on the same transport each day. Please confirm with PTS that your child will be coming on transport if they were before the Christmas holidays.

 Attendance

Returning to school is compulsory from March 8th unless your child has a shielding letter. If you are unsure about whether your child can or should come back to school, please contact your GP or paediatrician for advice.

Ipad returns

If you were loaned an iPad from school during the lockdown period, please return this to school with your child on Monday 8th March.

Testing

We will be asking families whether they consent to carrying out a test on their child twice a week.  There will be no in school testing of students. The results will be uploaded onto a quick form each time a test is carried out.  We will be sending more information out about this during the week.   All staff will be asked to test twice a week.  By carrying out regular testing we hope to be able to minimise the chance of bubbles closing due to positive cases in school.

Quality teaching

We are looking forward to high quality face to face teaching taking place for all students again.  This means that all remote learning will cease from 8th March unless your child has a shielding letter or their bubble closes.

Many thanks for your patience with all of this.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ring or e-mail any of the leadership team:
