Singing and Signing
On Tuesday morning we welcomed 66 choir members who came from near and far to launch the start of our Christmas events here at Hazelbeck.
The All Together Now Community Choir have had resounding success in our region for a number of years and has grow in talent and members ever since it was set up by Musical Director, Chris Kemp, collecting vocalists from as far as Harrogate and Skipton and coming together as an amazing musical choir to spread joy and happiness through music and songs.
It was an absolute pleasure having all the members directed by Chris to sing in our school hall. Both the Choir and our students sang their hearts out, welcoming the Christmas season with an array of most popular songs. The atmosphere was filled with happiness and emotion especially when a small group of students stood side by side with the choir to sign a very popular song, ‘A Million Dreams’, from the fantastic film The Greatest Showman, led by our very own (and soon to be signing tutor) Kelly Wright. Some of the students were well practised as they enjoy performing in public, however for some this was the first time. They overcame their nerves and remained focused until the end. An outstanding performance from every single person.
Thank you to Chris Kemp who is set to return with his fantastic choir in the near future, thank you to our amazing students who rise up and shine like the little stars that they are, continually developing resilience, independence and positive attitudes.
