Cartwright Hall

As an end of year treat Red Base students took part in a fantastic day visiting Cartwright Hall Art Gallery and Museum. Our initial interest was to visit the Museum which has recently been restored and to look around in order to be inspired by the wonderful art pieces held in both the building and grounds. After being contacted by the Exhibitions Curator, Sonja Kielty, Red and Lilac Bases decided to enter art pieces made during our Arts Week for Bradford's Young Open Award.
Discovering our artwork on display in the gallery was very exciting and students from both classes felt an immense sense of pride. We also spent time visiting the park, the water fountains and all the outdoor sculptures.
As a very last treat the students enjoyed a lovely picnic, an ice-cream and short play in Lister Park before returning to school.
A truly fantastic day out was had by students and staff.
