In order to maintain the health and safety of all users of the Beckfoot and Hazelbeck Campus, we’d like to start the new year with a plea and a reminder about car parking arrangements, especially at the start and end of the school day.
Beckfoot provides a turning circle to allow pick up of students from the Bradford Road entrance, details of which can be found here
We ask that only parents with a permit to collect students with limited mobility use the front car park. If permits are required, please contact your child’s Head of Year. Regular patrols of the car park take place to check on these permits and the use of disabled badges in marked spaces, and CCTV is in operation.
As we are sure you will appreciate, disabled spaces and pick up points at the front of school are required for the safe collection of Hazelbeck students and those students at Beckfoot with limited mobility, and we appreciate your support in this matter.
We also ask that parents refrain from parking or turning in Wagon Lane. This is to maintain safe access to the school by buses and special transport, to minimise the risk of accidents through turning traffic, and to provide local residents and businesses with unrestricted access to neighbouring properties.
Beckfoot students have previously taken part in the West Yorkshire Police Speedwatch initiative, and the school is actively engaged with local council to promote safer driving and road safety standards.
New Speed Limits
The Traffic and Highways department of Bradford Council have recently acted to make the roads around the Campus safer with the lowering of the speed limit on Bradford Road (B6265) from 40mph to 30mph from Cottingley Road (near Kiddi-crèche) to Ashfield Court. Additional measures are in place to limit speed of 20mph as shown below around the start and end of the school day. Could we also take this opportunity to remind visitors that the speed limit on Campus is 10mph.
