The World Around Me

image2Some of our Silver Base students have been working hard on a mini art project for a competition called 'The World Around Me'. Students were shown work in various styles - expressionism, Fauvism, pointillism etc.,  they then researched a certain artist they liked or a specific piece of art.  Students had to think about themes, texture, colour, depth and materials. A main focus was the use of the medium of photography to capture specific items, areas and environments in their world. Their results were amazing - one student had a background created from balsa wood and painted the planet Earth on it, another created a tree using sticks then took photographs showing their favourite environments and activities and placed them on the tree.
Such creative minds!
