Investors in Health

Over the past two years Hazelbeck students and staff have taken on the challenge of working towards the Investors in Health Award with enthusiasm and vigour.

Various long term wide-reaching initiatives have been implemented in school including:

• Asthma Awareness work - we raised awareness school wide; parents, staff and students were all involved. We updated our asthma policy and training is now given to all new members of staff.
• Hand hygiene - students, staff and parents were all involved in these workshops.
• Relationships & Sexuality Education (RSE) - a wide reaching programme was implemented throughout school. We have increased our number of UR Choice trained practitioners and we run regular parent workshops.
• Healthy Eating - the whole school was involved in workshops and open days and we have been involved in the Food Dudes programme twice, to encourage everyone to eat more fruit and vegetables.
