Rosh Hashanah Celebrations Across the School
Our classrooms have been buzzing with the joy of learning about Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year! Students discovered the beautiful traditions and symbolism behind this meaningful festival, from the sound of the shofar (trumpet) to the significance of special foods and customs like casting off sins into running water.
The learning came alive through so many wonderful activities. Our students engaged in thoughtful discussions, explored Judaism through hands-on activities, and created absolutely stunning apple and honey themed sun-catchers that caught the light beautifully. They crafted their own trumpets, experienced sensory activities, and tasted the sweetness of apple and honey – a delicious way to symbolise hopes for a sweet year ahead.
Beyond the fun and creativity, these celebrations gave everyone a chance to learn about different cultures and beliefs while reflecting on their own hopes for a happy and successful new school year. What a wonderful reminder that our classroom is richer when we celebrate and understand one another!
