Diwali

As part of our topic about celebrations, Orange Base have explored the sounds and sights of Diwali this week. We made diva lamps, using clay which was much harder to manipulate than play dough.  We painted them and made them sparkle with glitter. We also dyed rice and used it to make patterns similar to rangoli patterns which people make on the floor. These lamps and patterns welcome the goddess Lakshmi into houses and we hope our display by our door will encourage her to bless our classroom.
