Bradford City of Culture 2025
22nd February 2025
A Magical Experience
The Grue installation in Bingley was part of the programme organised to celebrate Bradford City of Culture 2025 and Hazelbeck was invited to visit the for the full day in February.
Six classes across our key stages were able to take part in the event as a relaxed performance and they were all blown away by the magical display of lights, creativity and detail of the actual structure. It was an immersive experience made entirely from recycled and repurposed materials and also featured lighting, sound and live performers. It had distinct areas which represented different themes, with a secretive core section featuring a huge moveable dragon-like creature for students to find and interact with.
The whole installation was amazing, both students and adults described it as ‘magical’, ‘amazing’, ‘enchanting’ and ‘breath-taking’. The attention to detail was second to none and we were all so privileged to have been the first school to visit the event.
We would like to thank Cat Stiles, City of Culture Cultural Learning Organiser, for giving us the opportunity and to the students and staff who made the visit possible.
We are all so proud to support and be part of the City of Bradford.
