Arts Week 2022
Hazelbeck has held an annual Arts Week for seven years and every year from the very start it was clear that all our students are able to access the event from lots of different angles and produce some fantastic and creative individual and class collective artwork pieces. This year was no different and although the challenges with performing artists and students working together across school did have some limitations, there were definitely no barriers in respect of the artwork created. There is always a really warm feeling when you walk into our pop-up exhibition and see what our students are capable of creating, both independently and supported by our skillful staff.
This year the theme was ‘Patterns’ and all the classes were able to create a variety of wonderful art pieces for the exhibition. To add an extra facet to the event there was a competitive slant with three different categories to give students and staff a more specific focus, these were: Thinking out of the box, The most impactful piece of art and The most creative. Everyone rose up to the artistic challenge and Yellow, Lilac and Pink Bases were the eventual winners. It was a very difficult decision as every piece of work was of a really high standard and all the classes were true contenders.
A massive thank you to all our students for working so hard and to all the staff who diligently support our young people at many different levels and help to unlock their potential.
Please have a look at our galleries and see if you can spot some of the artists and movements we focused on during Arts Week including: Van Gogh, Mondrian, Kandinsky, Pointillism and Gustav Klimt.
