Bright Futures
Hazelbeck recently hosted the Bright Futures Event where providers of activities and courses suitable for our students when they leave school meet our students and their families. Stall holders included Waddiloves, who provide health care and support into adulthood, Special Pathways who offer tailored activities to suit the needs of young people who want to explore their community and Shipley, Bradford & Leeds City Colleges. Also there were organisations who do day trips, outdoor visits and music activities. For a full list of local providers, please look at the Bradford Local Offer https://localoffer.bradford.gov.uk/
It is never too early to start thinking about options and also some of the providers offer activities for younger children in the holidays, weekends or after school which helps young people to get a feel for what's on offer.
Carly at Connect the Dots was one of the providers, she commented: Thank you for a lovely event, it was very useful. We realised that many of your students live in the same area as our organisation (Idle, BD10) so it was great to meet the students and their families and make some positive links. Your students were great and asked lots of questions. They were very polite!
