Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Children in Need

Screenshot_13-12-2024_195853_www.beckfoot.orgOn Friday 15 November we hosted our ‘Dress up & Donate’ event for Children in Need, students and staff were invited to come to school dressed in their favourite costumes from pyjamas, superheroes, TV characters, polka dots, yellow clothes, non-uniform and of course Pudsey bear outfits, and make donations to Children in Need. We had some fabulous costumes, and it was great to see so many students taking part.
Students across school enjoyed a wide range of activities throughout the day such as Lilac base who made some fantastic 3D Pudsey Bear sculptures and Indigo base who worked on connecting dots and pen control drawing Pudsey faces. Students in Coral and Green bases showed off their pyjamas and fancy dress costumes and Olive base had a special Pudsey disco & karaoke sing along with all of their favourite songs. Yellow and Silver bases worked hard using their reading and maths skills to create badges from instruction texts and solved problems using calculations of different donation amounts. Students in Red and Purple cooked up some delicious Pudsey themed biscuits and buns and students in Bronze base practiced a skipping challenge developing their coordination & gross motor skills.

In addition to all of this wonderful work, during the morning classes also joined in watching an official Pudsey show where ‘The Gladiators’ were taking on school-based challenges - we all enjoyed watching and cheering along. In the afternoon we had a ‘Run Pudsey’ event in the hall and outside where students in Sage, Teal, Orange, Amber & Blue challenged themselves to join in some physical activity. They travelled, walked and ran laps of the school hall, danced to some music and cheered each other along. We also had some students in the 6th Form take their challenge outside and out of school and travel the school grounds and even into local community. There were lots of fantastic costumes and very generous donations, taking our school total of money raised for Children in Need to £132.96!

Well Done Hazelbeck!
