Community Access
Every Friday morning (weather permitting) Red Base go into their local community to learn about road safety and using and
applying maths skills in practical ways.
All the students walk into Bingley town and are supported to pay particular attention to the traffic. They are given time to say whether vehicles are moving or are stationary and whether cars are moving away from them or towards them. They are developing very good looking and listening skills and learn to wait at the traffic lights until the green man appears in order to cross the main road. When they have reached the town centre safely they go in to the supermarket to buy food products for their Food Tech lesson, equipped with the appropriate symbols or pictures.
Red Base students continue to make good progress in their Community Access sessions.
