Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Corn Exchange

Yellow Base were lucky enough to visit Anji Timlin's exhibition in the Corn Exchange in Leeds recently. The students travelled by train to Leeds - some had never been on a train before and were really excited about the outing. They paid for their train tickets and used them to enter and leave the station.

We had discussed visiting the works of Anji Timlin who, is a valued member of Hazelbeck is teaching team and a brilliant artist, for some time, this was the perfect opportunity. Anji supported our students last year when she delivered some very specific art sessions which were based on sketching our outside environment and slowly building those sketches up by adding colour and texture, the same way as Anji does when she creates her beautiful paintings. The work is linked to the Arts Explore which the students are working towards.

The students visited a small gallery within the Corn Exchange and were also in awe of fantastic construction of the building itself. The day was successful and everyone learnt something totally new which will no doubt go towards enabling the students continue to become independent young adults. Well done Yellow Base.
