Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Covid-19 Update

Download letter here

Dear Parents/Carers and Students
Covid-19 Update
I am writing to inform you that I have been asked today to implement our outbreak action plan by the Public
Health Team at Bradford Council. This is because a number of staff and a pupil in one base have tested positive
for Covid-19.
We have a robust plan in place in the event of a situation like this and will now put this into action. We are working
closely with Bradford Council and Beckfoot Trust to make sure that all relevant guidance is followed. The things
that will be put in place will be very familiar to you as they are similar to arrangements that were in place last
Autumn and Spring, but incorporating extra lateral flow testing. This includes:
• maintaining bubbles
• a return to wearing face coverings/masks when possible in shared areas and on transport
• daily lateral flow tests for staff
• making daily lateral flow tests available for pupils (all students will be sent home with testing kits tonight)
• no mixing with the Beckfoot School in their area of the building
• limiting visitors to those who attend to pupils for therapeutic and other essential reasons
• EHCP Annual review meetings will be held online
These arrangements will be in place until at least Friday 1st October.

School remains open for all staff and students unless they have a confirmed positive Covid test or are displaying
symptoms however mild. It essential that any student displaying symptoms does NOT attend school. They MUST
isolate for 10 days or until the receive a negative PCR result.
Our top priority is the safety of everyone in our community. The plans we have in place help to protect the
vulnerable and reduce the spread of the virus.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding. Should you need support on any of the above please let
us know.

Thank you for your support.
Kind regards
Beth McPhail
