Cycling along the Coast
Students from Key Stages 4 and 5 recently took part in a 2-day cycle ride on the off-road mountain bike route, the Cinder Track, which runs along the North East Coast linking Scarborough to Whitby.
The students, some of whom had only recently learnt to cycle at school, completed the route cycling 20 miles over two days up and down some undulating and rough terrain.
The group were a credit to the school and their behaviour and achievements were complimented by staff at Boggle Hole Youth Hostel where the residential was based. Boggle Hole is an old haunt of pirates with its own beach and wonderful sunsets over the sea.
Residential experiences afford the participants the chance to develop independence and self-esteem as well as teambuilding and overcoming physical and emotional challenges - well done to all the students who took part.
