Hazelbeck Pride
Carnival Week
As some of you may remember, June was Pride month and we would like to share what Hazelbeck did in support of this.
Throughout the week students learnt about LGBTQ+ matters through a range
of activities such as exploring rainbow inspired art works, cooking and baking activities, engaging in a range of creative activities, had their faces painted, made party decorations and accessories, and engaged with stories that celebrate diversity within the LGBTQ+ community. At the end of the week all bases took part in a whole school celebration event in the form of a Pride Carnival and parade. Students wore their base colours to create our very own Hazelbeck Pride Rainbow!
Pride is part of our curriculum at Hazelbeck and is a really important part of our school community for both students and staff, so it was fantastic to see everyone engaging so well with the activities and the learning throughout the week in ways that were appropriate to them.
