LOCAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE RECRUITMENT

I would like to share an exciting opportunity we have for members of our community to make a great contribution to our school via our Local School Committee. While the Beckfoot Trust Board has ultimate Governance responsibility for all the Trust schools, Hazelbeck School has a Local School Committee (LSC). The committee has delegated responsibilities and their role is to be a critical friend of the school and facilitate the Beckfoot Trust Board in having a full understanding of the views and needs of students, staff, parents, carers and the local community. The members must be ambitious for all children and young people, have a passion for education and be committed to continuous school improvement.  

In terms of time commitment, LSC members will usually attend four afternoon meetings (1pm-2.30pm) across the year and be asked to participate in occasional Trust events, events in school and to review documents at home prior to meetings. 

We would like to invite expressions of interest in joining the committee from all parent/carers of our diverse community but we are particularly keen to hear from parents/carers with children in Years 7-11 as this phase is currently underrepresented.
