Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Relationship & Sex Education at Hazelbeck

Learning about being safe and forming positive relationships is an important part of any school's curriculum; it is a key part of our work at Hazelbeck.
We follow the Government guidance which states that "all of the compulsory subject content must be age appropriate and developmentally appropriate. It must be taught sensitively and inclusively, with respect to the backgrounds and beliefs of pupils and parents while always with the aim of providing pupils with the knowledge they need..."
We do lots of work about self-care, emotions, stranger danger, being a good friend, consent, puberty and safe and trusting relationships.  All our staff promote inclusion, fairness, positive mental health and tolerance. Our wonderful students learn important life skills through engaging in varied activities that are carefully planned to be developmentally appropriate.
Have a look at some of the things we do at Hazelbeck in the gallery below. These photographs show students doing role play, learning about puberty, private body parts, self-care, safe choices and safe relationships.
