Hazelbeck had a new sensory room installed in school over the October half term, this was made possible with thanks to The Alfred Sharp Trustees. The 1887 Alfred Sharp Bingley Educational Trust is a charity which aims to 'advance the education of children and adults in the former Bingley Improvement District'. Hazelbeck was successful in applying for a grant from them which enabled us to have our new sensory room installed by Shipley based company Spacekraft.
The room enables our students access to all sorts of state-of-the-art sensory equipment, including (but not limited to):
- Infinity tunnel
- Interactive touch panel
- Vibro bed
- Interactive floor projector
- Sound activated lights
- UV lights
- Wall colour wash lights
You can see from the photos what a beautiful, calming space we have created for our students with the money provided by The Alfred Sharp Trustees. The room will provide our students with a range of new learning experiences and opportunities and, so far, students have loved exploring the new space.
