Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Dear Parent/Carer,

First of all, can I say a huge thank you to you all for your support and understanding during what a difficult year for everyone it has been. As you will be aware, it is difficult to know what the Covid situation will look like in September. However, for now, we are hoping for a more ‘normal’ year. For those families who are joining us in September, we look forward to welcoming you. With that in mind, I would like to update you with arrangements for September.

Start and finish times
Students should start to arrive from 8.40am with lessons starting at 9.00am.

Pick up will be from 2.40pm (the gates will open from 2.20pm).

Due to the number of families bringing their child in, we are unable to go back to students arriving through reception. All students should continue to arrive into and be picked up from the bus park as they have this year. Staff will be in the bus park to meet your child.

Uniform
All students in Year 7 to Year 11 are expected to wear school uniform. This consists of black or grey trousers/skirt/shorts, a white t-shirt, navy blue sweatshirt, cardigan or hoodie (with or without the school logo).

Lunchtimes
Students will continue to have lunch in classrooms. During this time, students will be supported to develop their social skills and life skills and it will be part of the teaching day.

Moving around school
We plan for students to mix more and to move to other lessons around school, rather than being class based. We will let you know which day your child is having swimming and PE in September and ask that they are sent in with the appropriate kit.

Meetings and visitors
We hope to be able to welcome families into school for meetings, coffee mornings, and celebrations.
During the week commencing Monday 20 September 2021 we hope to be able to invite parents in to meet their child’s teacher and see the classroom they are in.

Risk assessment
We will be updating our Covid Risk Assessment in September and will keep you informed of any changes.

We hope that you have a lovely summer holiday and remain healthy and safe.  We look forward to seeing you in September.

Kind Regards,
Beth McPhail,
Headteacher
