Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Start of term arrangements

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have had a wonderful holiday and your child is looking forward to starting school on Monday 5 September. For our new students and their families, we look forward to welcoming you to the Hazelbeck community, we look forward to getting to know you and hope you will enjoy your time with us. To our returning students, we can’t wait to see you on Monday.

A few reminders, the gates to the bus park will open at 8:25. There will be people directing you to a space and we ask that you only park in allocated spaces. Buses and our students in wheelchairs will be directed to the places closest to school. Please wait in your car until someone comes to get your child at approximately 8:35. It often takes us a few ‘rounds’ to get all transport in so please be patient with us. We close the bus park gates at 9am and our register closes at 9:15. All young people will start learning when they get into the school building.

At the end of the day the gates will open at 2:30. Students will start to come out at 2:40. Again this can take a few rounds so please be patient. All students should have been picked up by 3pm. Managing transport is always tricky and especially so in the first couple of weeks as we get to know which bus/taxi/car students arrive in so we ask everyone to work together to make this as smooth as possible.

A reminder that the Hazelbeck uniform is a white T-shirt (preferably polo t-shirt), black trousers, skirt or shorts, and a navy blue sweatshirt. If your child is in sixth form, they do not need to wear uniform.

Your child’s class teacher will let you know which days they have swimming and PE in the first week.

If you have any questions, queries, concerns during the first week, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Until then, have a fabulous weekend!

Kind Regards,

Beth McPhail
Headteacher
