Stayin' Alive
We have welcomed Mark in to school this week to deliver First Aid training for Silver Base (sixth form).
Students have learned so much about First Aid such as what to do in case of cuts, fainting and cardiac arrest and they also learned how to perform CPR on a baby, infant and adult. We did the compressions in time to the beat of the Bee Gees 'Stayin' Alive' which helped us to make sure that we were doing the correct number of compressions per minute. Students thought of some great questions to ask Mark such as "How would you perform CPR on a person who is a wheelchair user?" and "What would you do if someone had a panic attack?".
Staff are incredibly proud of the way in which our Silver Base students demonstrated their understanding during the discussions and practical tasks. Well done!
